Educational Development is a program offered to students and individuals using Equine- Assisted Learning. Our team focuses on assisting clients in reaching their educational, professional, and personal goals, these programs serve as a valuable tool for personal and professional growth.
This program is an experiential education process based on the belief that horses can help us learn new, more innovative ways of thinking about behavior and how we interact with others. Take Flight has been successfully working with Omaha schools for over a decade. Equine-Assisted Learning has many potential benefits for students, including the discovery of new learning methods and a better understanding of interpersonal and personal skills they can utilize in their relationships at school, with their families, and in social situations.
This Education program offers students an opportunity to work on skills such as:
- Developing and maintaining relationships
- Emotional awareness
- Empathy
- Impulse control
- Problem-solving skills
- Social skills
- Development of trust in self/ others
- Motivation
- Assertiveness
Regarding education, these skills can be particularly valuable in supplementing traditional classroom learning. Through hands-on activities and real-world experiences, students can develop and hone these skills over 3 sessions in the arena in a practical, engaging way.
